On Thursday we celebrated Ms. Joyce's birthday with special spring cookies!
We also read a book about washing our hands & are practicing sneezing and coughing into the crook of our arms. Everyone is doing great! We will read more books next week about hand washing as a reminder. To put everyone's mind at ease, we have always been diligent about hand washing before eating snack & after diaper changing/toileting. Additionally, our tables are wiped down with Clorox Disinfectant wipes after we eat &/or play. Our toys are cleaned weekly and daily if a child puts a toy in his/her mouth. And of course, if we see a child with fingers/hands in their nose/mouth, we direct them to wash their hands. We ask that you continue to remind your children to keep their hands/fingers out of orifices (which is nearly impossible for them to do).

Considering the seriousness of Covid -19, & to best protect children from exposure, this is a gentle reminder to wash your child's hands at home before coming to school. You are all wonderful, vigilant parents & I'm sure that by now you are familiar with the symptoms of this virus. I know you will all exercise caution in monitoring your family for symptoms & have your children remain at home if not feeling well.
At this point in time, I will remain open, even if your job closes or if Sachem School District closes.
If someone in your household contracts the virus, it is recommended that families self quarantine. I am requiring the same. If my family, gets the virus, I will do the same. Since this is new to everyone, we will see how it goes as time moves on.
St. Patrick's Day is almost here. We will have a Green Day celebration during snack time. If you would like to send in treats, we would very much appreciate it. It will also be Green Day so be sure to dress the children in Green for school! We have a total of 12 children in our morning class.
Stay healthy & be well!
