It might not have snowed outside this week but we had “snow much fun” in our classroom! We made snowmen & other creations with white glittery slime (ewww...gooey!) & blue & white play dough.
During small group with our pre-k kids, we identified who has the letter G in their name, stamped & wrote Gg in our journals, circled the letter Gg if we have it in our name, rainbow traced G, walked G & outlined the letter G with gemstones. We also came up with a list of words that begin with the letter G for our word wall. Ask your child about the hard & soft sounds of the letter Gg.
During large group time, read several books about winter weather & snow! We colored with markers on coffee filters then sprayed with water to watch the colors “bleed” into a beautiful design to create snowflakes.
A great big thank you to our families for placing Scholastic book orders these past few months. We earned enough bonus points to order a 100 piece set of Magna-tiles & a magnetic letter construction set. The children love using these new classroom items.
The Thursday afternoon children created a library in the book corner then proceeded to alert us that the library was allergic to Ms. Sheri's & Ms. Sarah's so we weren't allowed to enter. We love their imaginations!

January, the 1st month of the new year & also the month of snowstorms. Along with the possibility of snow comes the prospect of closings & delays. While we make every effort to remain open, safety is a factor for all of our families & staff.
Please note that if Sachem School District closes due to inclement weather, we will also be closed. If Sachem has a delayed opening, we will make every effort to open at our usual time. However, extenuating circumstances might require us to be closed for the morning session. Please tune in to WALK radio (FM 97.5) or check our FB page, the Remind App &/or Brightwheel App for closing & delay information.
