Speaking of recycling, we are going to participate in a recycled sneaker project being run by Kellen's mom. Please read below for more information:
Ready to Dunk Your Kicks?
The Corporate Fun Run Long Island charity partner, The Max Cure Foundation, has a unique fund raising program called Dunk Your Kicks! With your help, The Max Cure Foundation collects gently used sneakers and recycles them as affordable footwear in developing nations to raise money for families battling pediatric cancer. They get a few dollars per pair from a global recycler which then goes towards either funding pediatric cancer research or financially supporting a local family with a child fighting cancer. For additional information please visit https://www.maxcurefoundation.org/dunk-your-kicks/
Qualified donations include: tennis shoes, running sneakers, athletic shoes of any kind, no holes, please! Sneakers must be tied together. Cleats or athletic shoes with metal tips are not acceptable!
Please bring in your donations to Creative Kids Center by May 20th & I will pass them on to Kellen's mom. Thank you for helping us participate in this global fundraiser.
