Hard to believe this was the last week of school in 2016! The holidays are now here & the children are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Santa &/or the celebration of Hanukkah!
During small group with our 4's, we identified who has the letter D in their name, stamped & wrote Dd in our journals, circled the letter Dd if we have it in our name, rainbow traced D, walked D & outlined the letter D with gemstones. We also identified words with the letter D, went on a D hunt searching for items beginning with the letter D & came up with a list of words that begin with the letter D. Whew! I believe our 4's are now D experts! Ask them about a word that begins with the letter D.
During large group time, we spoke about who celebrates Christmas, Chanukah or both. Then we made a graph from the findings. Check out our Facebook page for a picture.
We finished decorating our Christmas ornaments & dreidels & hung them up on our windows! We also finished the holiday gift for our families. Remember, don't open until Christmas or Chanukah!
We were very excited for our holiday party & the different holiday treats we will try. To prepare, we made something that can be eaten with latkes. We made applesauce in the crockpot. We cored, cut & peeled the apples. Then we mixed them together with cinnamon, water, sugar & lemon juice.
As you can see, we had a very busy week!
