Happy New Year!
We had a fabulous 1st week of the New Year here at school!
During small group with our pre-k kids, we identified who has the letter E in their name, stamped & wrote Ee in our journals, circled the letter Ee if we have it in our name, rainbow traced E, walked E & outlined the letter E with gemstones. We also identified words with the letter E, went on an E hunt searching for items beginning with the letter E & came up with a list of words that begin with the letter E. Our pre-k kids are now E experts! Ask your child about the 2 sounds the letter E makes.
During large group time, we spoke about the holiday gifts we received. We also made a list of our wishes for the New Year. Check out our Facebook page for a picture.
We began quite a few new art projects this week. We used watercolors to paint placemats which we laminated to be used during snack & lunch time. We decorated bells to ring in the New Year & used dot markers to decorate 2017 signs. We also created wish stars using glue & glitter for our New Year's Wish Tree.
Brianna, Sarah & Emma learned all about teamwork when they worked closely together on a 48 piece Frozen puzzle featuring Anna & Elsa. They were all very proud of their success!

January, the 1st month of the new year & also the month of snowstorms. Along with the possibility of snow comes the prospect of closings & delays. While we make every effort to remain open, safety is a factor for all of our families & staff. Please note that if Sachem School District closes due to inclement weather, we will also be closed. If Sachem has a delayed opening, we will make every effort to open at our usual time. However, extenuating circumstances might require us to be closed for the morning session. Please tune in to WALK radio (FM 97.5) or check our FB page, the Remind App &/or Brightwheel App for closing & delay information.
