The past 2 weeks have been so busy that we put our small group activities on hold until we return from vacation. We will continue focusing on letters/sounds through the end of the alphabet when we return in January.
When Ms. Sheri was away we had a mystery reader and enjoyed sharing a special holiday tradition with Anthony E.’s mom & grandparents. We painted ornaments, then listened to the story, The Mitten read to us by Anthony’s grandmother. What a special treat!
Our Tuesday class made edible Christmas trees. Delicious fun was had by all!
This past Thursday, we celebrated Anthony C.’s 5th birthday. Anthony is our oldest student in class! Anthony’s mom was our mystery reader. She read us a family favorite, The Night Before Christmas. Then we ate delicious mini cupcakes after singing “Happy Birthday!” A great big thank you to Anthony’s mom for being our mystery reader & celebrating Anthony’s special day.

A great big thank you to everyone who donated pajamas during our Pajama Drive in conjunction with Scholastic Books. Our class donated 30 pajamas. Scholastic will match those pajamas with 30 books. The pajamas are being donated to You Gotta Believe. You Gotta Believe is one of a few organizations in the U.S. and the only organization in the New York City Metro area that limits its practice to finding permanent parents and families for young adults, teens, and pre-teens in the foster care system. These youth will enjoy cozy pajamas & a book to read at bedtime due to your generosity.
Thank you to all of our families for contributing to our holiday party & the treat bags for the children.
Thank you also for the wonderful holiday gifts for our teachers. We truly appreciate your generosity & thoughtfulness.
We wish you all a very happy, healthy & peaceful New Year! See you all next year!
