Activities: We continued to practice our daily classroom routine as well as review classroom, circle time & center rules. We introduced painting at the easel by reading I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More! We talked about our easel routine (putting on a smock, getting paper, painting, drying) & how to appropriately paint on paper at the easel. We painted cardboard circles at the easel, added designs with dot markers & glued on various circle-shaped items to design-a-dot after reading the book, The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds! Ask your child what color we painted our circles.
Hula hoops, round place mats, log slice blocks & bottle caps were used to design dots.
- Next week we say goodbye to summer & welcome the official arrival of Fall. Activities will include apple tasting & apple painting, among others. Some of our children have been talking about going apple picking. What a fabulous, fun family activity & natural environment to engage in teachable moments!
- Holbrook Fire Department field trip is on 10/22/19. We will meet at the Fire Department on Terry Road at 9:45. Permission slips with further information will be sent home in October.
- School picture day is Monday, September 23, 2019. Be sure to dress your best. If your child does not attend school on Monday & you would like to order school pictures, please feel free to accompany your child for picture day. We will take the class picture first so everyone is included. Please arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. to be included in the class picture.
- October Scholastic book orders will be sent home the last week of September & are due 10/4 to ensure delivery before Halloween.
Always feel free to speak to any of us about any concerns/issues you might have. We are all in this together & want your child to have the most positive preschool experience possible!
