We had another fabulous week here at school discussing acts of kindness, peace & Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.! We played with slime (ewww...gooey!), blue play dough & had some fun with real snow (COLD!) in a bin!
During small group with our pre-k kids, we identified who has the letter F in their name (no one!), stamped & wrote Ff in our journals, circled the letter Ff if we have it in our name, rainbow traced F, walked F & outlined the letter F with gemstones. We also came up with a list of words that begin with the letter F for our word wall. Ask your child about the letter F sound.
During large group time, we introduced the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., what he stood for & why we have his birthday off from school. We read several books about being different & how we can all live together peacefully.
We painted with watercolors & made hand prints with tempera paint. Some of us answered the question, “How would you change the world?” We also chose a color crayon that we would like to be & colored a picture of a crayon. We spoke about how we are all unique on the outside like different crayon colors but the same on the inside.
Happy 4th Birthday to both Jonah & Max & Happy 5th Birthday to Joseph! Our Creative Kids are sure growing up. Thank you to Jonah's & Max's families for providing birthday goodies to help us celebrate & to Joseph's family for our pizza lunch & munchkins.

January, the 1st month of the new year & also the month of snowstorms. Along with the possibility of snow comes the prospect of closings & delays. While we make every effort to remain open, safety is a factor for all of our families & staff.
Please note that if Sachem School District closes due to inclement weather, we will also be closed. If Sachem has a delayed opening, we will make every effort to open at our usual time. However, extenuating circumstances might require us to be closed for the morning session. Please tune in to WALK radio (FM 97.5) or check our FB page, the Remind App &/or Brightwheel App for closing & delay information.
Creative Kids will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2017 due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
